Hidden iOS 12 Tips

news

iOS is, so far, the fastest mobile operating system. As a result, it comes with some really great features. Some of these features are quite flashy and big that you will definitely notice them. However, some of them can rarely be recognized. In fact, you won’t even know about them unless someone tells you about them. Here, we share with you, some of the little fascinating tricks that are hidden on your iPhone and iPad.

Spacebar Creates a Trackpad

Did you know that you could actually place a cursor in the text? Yes, it only requires a little precision finger placement as you type on the screen. You will be able to use this feature if you are using iOS devices that have 3D Touch, or iOS 12 devices without 3D Touch. In order to do that, you have to hold your finger down on the spacebar. This will turn it into a trackpad.

Use 3D Touch to Scan

We really love 3D Touch because it allows you to do a lot of things. One of those things is allowing you quick access to certain apps. You will only need to hard-press on the screen in order to do that. In order to use the scan feature, you will have to 3D Touch the camera icon. When the camera opens, you will be able to see the Scan QR Code option in the pop-up menu. After that, you will find the 3D Touch option to scan a document on the Notes app.

Search for Lyrics in Apple Music

We can all admit that we have had crazy experiences where we had lyrics to a song but did not know the name of the song. Now, this hidden iOS feature comes in handy as it will tell you what song it is. All you have to do is type in the lyrics into the search box on the Apple Music app. The app will then show you all the options for songs, playlists, or albums with lyrics matching your search. One other exciting thing about this is that you will be able to do it even if you are not an Apple Music subscriber.

Hide Photos from Prying Eyes

Please note that this method is not for hiding entirely. All it does is move your photos from the photo gallery to a gallery that is pre-made in your iOS photos. This pre-made gallery is called Hidden and when you move photos there, they will not be uploaded to iCloud or any other backups. In order to move your photos there, you must select the images and then click the share icon. From there, you have to choose the Hide option from the bottom row that appears with some grey icons. Anyone will be able to see these photos but it only takes people who know about this secret feature. However, you can lock your photos inside the Notes app as well.

Use Animoji/Memoji in FaceTime

Animoji will allow you to create an avatar that looks like you. You will be able to do this is the Message app. Now, you will be able to use that avatar in a FaceTime call instead of your own. For you to be able to use this feature, you will need to own an iPhone X or higher.
